Formulation and Evaluation of Cream Turmeric Extract Preparations from Turmeric Rhizomes (Curcuma domestica Val.)

The use of plants as a method herbal treatment is step that currently being developed by many researchers to produce effective and minimal side effects. Turmeric one the most widely used cooking spices people Indonesia. main ingredients possessed turmeric include curcumin (77%), demethoxy (17%) bisdemethoxy (3%). One pharmaceutical preparations with topical delivery system cream preparation which semi-solid dosage form, containing or more drug dissolved dispersed in an appropriate base material. can be formulated various preparations, form. advantage using they are practical, easy wash clean. purpose this study was formulate extract preparation. results evaluation test showed formula produced yellow-orange color, characteristic odor turmeric, semisolid texture, had good homogeneity, dispersing ability, pH 5.84; 6.32; 6.24; 5,94;5,94 type emulsion O/W (Oil Water).
